PHOTO JOURNALISM:
I was inspired by a photographer named Peter Essick. He is known for his photography which is highly relatable to the environment and its significance in the world. He has been awarded several awards for his contributions towards the profession of photography. Peter Essick's view on nature is quite the opposite of what many cherish it for. Typically thinking individuals tend to demonstrate admiration towards the environment to the attraction it has physically and externally, rather than internally. Peter Essick believes that nature is crucial towards the development of many advanced theories when it concerns topics such as natural systems and biodiversity. He believes that it's significant for the world to be aware of the torture nature tends to suffer from each and every day as the results do effect humans as well as the habitats in which they dwell in. My theme was similar to that Peter Essick's, but my photography is more directed towards the perseverance the forms of nature are capable despite them being deteriorated by various sources. I chose to depict all sorts of organisms in nature in black and white, because it elaborates more on the theme that I am trying to depict through my photography. This is important to me, because I consider myself as an environmentalist. One gets a different reaction from all sorts of organisms and elements that are living or dead when they show it affection and or on the contrary neglection. Through my photo journalism project I have come to realize that all the organisms present in the environment will always be there dead or alive unless chemically, physically, or naturally removed. All the plantations and animals may occur to be quite appealing but their internal feelings and pain are mostly avoided. Through my pictures the audience may be able too dig deep in them and think outside of the box. This will allow them to never perceive nature the way they had viewed it prior to my work.
